National Symposium on Harnessing PGR of Peninsular India

From Biodiversity Hotspot to Sustainable Bioresource Hub

Peninsular India represents one of the richest repositories of Plant Genetic Resources (PGR) in the country, encompassing the Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats, Deccan Plateau, coastal ecosystems, and associated island systems. NSPPI 2026 aims to bring together scientists, academicians, policy makers, industry representatives, conservationists, students, and farmers to deliberate on the sustainable utilisation and conservation of PGR for food, nutrition, livelihood security, climate resilience, and biodiversity conservation.

The symposium will provide a national platform to discuss innovative strategies for exploration, conservation, characterisation, utilisation, and policy frameworks related to Plant Genetic Resources in Peninsular India.
